Dr. Dunja Cosic Carlson grew up in Rockford and graduated from Boylan High School. At Rockford University, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and earned numerous awards, such as Sigma Xi and the American Chemical Society Award. She also completed a biomedical research program at the UIC School of Medicine, where she carried out cancer research that received the Medical Research Award. Dr. Carlson graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine cum laude. The dental school faculty awarded Dr. Carlson both the Academy of General Dentistry Award and the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Award.
Dr. Carlson takes current research very seriously to provide her patients with the most up-to-date treatments available. She is certified in Integrative Biological Dental Medicine and is a member of The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT). She practices safe mercury removal and holds a Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART) certification. Dr. Carlson has always been natural-minded in her own lifestyle, and she strongly believes in the importance of oral health in order to achieve total body health. Her goal in life is to help patients achieve this. Dr. Carlson is accepting new patients and looks forward to meeting and working with you.
